HAL is driving me nuts! Won't suspend so instead hibernates
In both FC9 and FC10, I've had problems with power management on my desktop machine.
Power management functions correctly blank the screen, but upon trying to suspend (mostly just to spin down the drives) it complains there is a "problem with suspend" and instead just hibernates.
I need it to let me suspend. I know my desktop does this....it functions correctly under Ubuntu, just not Fedora.
If I issue "lshal |grep suspend", I get:
power_management.can_suspend = false (bool)
power_management.can_suspend_hybrid = false (bool)
power_management.can_suspend_to_disk = true (bool)
power_management.can_suspend_to_ram = false (bool)
power_management.quirk.dpms_suspend = true (bool)
For some reason it thinks I can't suspend, but it does power down the monitor and can hibernate.
Anyone know how (or even if) I can set power_management.can_suspend value to true?
