Gnome3 Shell Themes and Extensions

Seems this is where most of the complaints come from... people spend a lot of time customizing their desktop and Gnome3 just blows that all away. I still can't find a CPU frequency scaling "shell extension" (terminology changed too). I complained about it and got "you don't need that" as a reply. True, it's not a problem on my current Intel Pentium laptop but old one with AMD Turion Ultra chip would routinely fail to scale. I guess once it burns up I really won't need it. Anywho, here's my Gnome3 screenshot:

Used gnome-tweak-tool and gnome-shell-theme-gaia. Not show is the Rythmbox extension from https://extensions.gnome.org/ that works a lot like Ubuntu's default setup, which I happen to like (not Unity, just that extension.)

Lets see your Gnome3 desktop and tell us how you did it. Inquiring minds want to know!

This was my GNOME Desktop under Fedora 17 sometime ago.

This was GNOME 3.4 with hydroxygen icon theme and Alternative 3.4 (yes, that's the name) shell theme. Weather, nothing to do, noa11y and user theme are the extensions installed.

I do not use GNOME anymore. I gave it up because I did not like certain changes since GNOME 3.6 and I was far more comfortable with how XFCE worked.

I'll have to see if I can find that "alternative." Gaia theme messed up pop-up notifications on bottom bar. And others I've tried like Zukitwo and Zukiwi installed Android's tiny font which is all but useless on a laptop or desktop computer. So, once again, I'm left with no freedom of choice and must use the default. I think I might go minimalist with http://lxde.org/ since there's a Fedora spin. I used to boot Lubuntu off a USB stick when Unity got on my nerves.

Wow LXDE is switching to QT too, which makes the hate of GTK3 almost unanimous. Quite frankly, if I have to use K apps instead of G apps to remain lean and mean... well, this might be my last dance with Red Hat. Same problems over and over again with these guys, so might be time to break the cycle. That Mint distro seems popular among the plebeians in the bazaar...
