Seems this is where most of the complaints come from... people spend a lot of time customizing their desktop and Gnome3 just blows that all away. I still can't find a CPU frequency scaling "shell extension" (terminology changed too). I complained about it and got "you don't need that" as a reply. True, it's not a problem on my current Intel Pentium laptop but old one with AMD Turion Ultra chip would routinely fail to scale. I guess once it burns up I really won't need it.

Used gnome-tweak-tool and gnome-shell-theme-gaia. Not show is the Rythmbox extension from
https://extensions.gnome.org/ that works a lot like Ubuntu's default setup, which I happen to like (not Unity, just that extension.)
Lets see your Gnome3 desktop and tell us how you did it. Inquiring minds want to know!
