gaim, xchat segfault after yum update
Greets all. I recetly made a big package update, updated everything. I don't usually get to do that cause I've got a terrible 'net connection. But after updating everything installed through yum, gaim and xchat segfault on startup. gaim gives the regular "this is not your fault" output, and xchat just segfaults. That xchat-gnome frontend starts up the gnome bug reporter the moment i try to enter the preferences dialog. really pesky since i'm forced to use kopete and kvirc for the moment abd needless to say ...i really prefer the ...erm...other apps.Evolution's acting all crazy and crashy sometimes....really seems to be gnome related. Any ideas on how i should get some sort of output about what's happening with those apps. Thanks.

Just a quick comment here. Have you downloaded and compiled (or even grabbed the RPM) for Pidgin (the new name for GAIM)? You should be able to grab these from http://www.pidgin.im (there is a blurb about the reason for the name change somewhere there on their website).
