I first started Linux when RedHat 9 came out. Had to switch because of to many problems. Used windows and other distors. Been looking for a distro to get behind.

I tried the Live CD of Fedora 25 and really like it.

Problem is, when going to "Display" and setting "Primary" as Primary (dual monitor, different resolutions), it doesn't hold the resolution to each monitor.
The TV shows up good, but the Primary (computer) monitor has the same resolution as the TV. The panels are off the screen.

I did the comand; and that put each monitor right.

If I boot with both monitors hooked up, I get everything on the TV (across the room). I have to boot up with the TV unhooked, then after boot up, hook it back in.

This is common with about 15 other Linux distros and DE's. A few installed distros, xrandr would work, but not stick. After boot up, it'd go back to the way it was. While other distros gave dual blank screens.

Don't want to install Fedora, then have to switch back to another distro.

Since there is no fix in other distros (past 14.04), how confident could someone be that it could be fixed after an install of Fedora 25?

Add --auto to your xrandr command, it should rescan inputs.

Came back home and took it for another spin. I put a couple things on the default monitor and ran the command. It put everything on the TV.
Maybe I'll need to wait until Fedora 26 comes out to run dual monitors.

One thing. In Mint, in LM "Start" "Settings Editor" you can go to an xrandr GUI. I tried Fedora Cinnamon but can't find it. Maybe if the Command line doesn't work, I could get it to work with the GUI.
If they're using Cinnamon, shouldn't it be there?
