I just installed FC6 with full package installation (tick both KDE and GNOME at installation package selection). However, after installation, I've entered as GNOME desktop and cannot find the desktop swticher under System -> more system setting. Did they removed it?
But there is a problem. I haven't setup network connection to internet and when i press application-add/removeSoftware, it says:
Unable to retrieve software Information. This could be caused by not having a network connection available. (Cannont find a valid baseurl for repo: core)
I suggest that you use your fedora dvd, then use the file browser to find switchdesk in the rpm folder of the dvd.
You can install it from there since your net connection isn't working yet.
Click on the file and you should see a window asking if you want to install it.
That does sound like the easiest way, but if it doesn't work. it's possible to configure yum to use the DVD instead of the internet.
You also don't need the switcher, you can just log out, when you get the login screen choose sessions, then select KDE.
