cd-info: Can't get first track number. I give up.

EDIT:
I tried to restart the computer, didn't work, but taking the dvd out and putting it back in did. Don't think it's physical, that I haven't been putting the disk's right in the slide/slot of the laptop. But stanger things have happened.

Are you saying that it did work at one time correctly?

At first glace I'd think a user permission.

Yes I it worked before, many months ago. I very rarely use cd's or dvd's. Then few months ago maybe two I had the same problem but after sitting in the drive for a few hours it kicked in by itself. Now nothing.

sounds like a dirty laser lens

you can use a Q-tip with a drop of "glass cleaner" ( windex) to clean it
