fedora directory server - system tuning analysis

Hi,

When trying to install FDS I get some suggestions and warnings from the system tunning analysis:

Code:
Fedora Directory Server system tuning analysis version 04-APRIL-2005.

NOTICE : System is i686-unknown-linux2.6.9-34.0.1.ELsmp (2 processors).

NOTICE : The net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time is set to 7200000 milliseconds
(120 minutes). This may cause temporary server congestion from lost
client connections.

WARNING: There are only 1024 file descriptors (hard limit) available, which
limit the number of simultaneous connections.

WARNING: There are only 1024 file descriptors (soft limit) available, which
limit the number of simultaneous connections.

Continue? (yes/no)
I know what the tcp_keep_alive and the file descriptors are. The thing is that Fedora gives you these warnings, but what are recommended values to use? I tried changing values but the system keeps giving me these messages. Am I going to keep getting them no matter what I use?

Anybody with some suggestions or recommendations? Anybody care to share what values are you using? And why?

Thanks

-Figa

this says that "If you are just installing a server to experiment with, then you can ignore all of those notices and warnings". here are some values from the docs, but I guess it depends on how many fd's will be opened when used and that just needs testing in your env I guess.

Wow, I guess that I should look better next time. I completely missed that.

Thanks a lot for the help.
