I am running Fedoar Core 4, with gd-2.0.33-2. The easy way is to do a
Code:
yum install php-gd
This will install apache, php and php-gd version 2.

If this does not work, I recommend you to download the php-5.0.4-10.3.src.rpm and install it
Code:
wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...4-10.3.src.rpm
rpm -i php-5.0.4-10.3.src.rpm
Edit the lines saying "--without-gd" to "--with-gd" in the file "/usr/src/redhat/SPEC/php.spec".

Recompile php and install it as root, when compiling has finished:
Code:
rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPEC/php.spec
cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386
su
rpm -Uh php-*

Thanks a million Hasse! I haven't got a clue what:

Code:
yum install php-gd
actually does but for me it worked great!

I've seen the command yum around a bit, what is it? An auto download and install app?

(btw, complete newbie, I guess it's obvious)
