FC6 Package Updater

Hi all just installed Fedora Core 6, when trying the updates I get an error.

Quote:
Another application is running which is accessing software information.
Thats what it throws up when I click the Package Updater icon to my top right on the panel.

Is that normal how do I fix so i can access the packages

I haven't been able to find any thing about it

TT

You probably have another instance of yum running for some reason. From terminal, type

ps aux | grep yum

to see what yum processes are running and kill as necessary.

I think this problem comes from using the autoupdater from what I've seen

JUst wait a few minutes and retry running yum. This happens to me too, and probably to all Fedora users. You could kill the process and then yum will work immediately, but I'd rather wait.

Cheers I let it be for a bit and the Package Updater has started downloading updates, so I guess it was real slow
