FC5, What gives with PCMCIA

On a Dell Laptop with FC5 installed.
If I put pcmcia card (pc harddrive) into the pcmcia socket, it is detected by autodetect,
If you tell it to "Open" it will come back and say "permission denied", on user or SU desktop.
Pcmcia in FC5 has changed so much that setting up card ID, is no longer available.
does anyone have any ideals what's going on.

Jim

Well to start off with pcmciautils is installed by FC5 and it is still possible to add a configutation for unknown cards, you might want to read up on this a bit so visit; http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/util...ia/pcmcia.html and read the mini-HOWTO.
