Unhappy FC4 - HP COLORADO 20GB, ATAPI TAPE drive problems

Hi All,

I've recently upgraded to FC4 and now my tape drive doesn't seem to work, it used to work fine in earlier versions of Fedora.

The tape drive is:
HP COLORADO 20GB, ATAPI TAPE drive
And used to be mounted on st0. But when I try to use 'mt' I get the following message:
[root@linux ~]# mt -f /dev/st0 status
/dev/st0: No such file or directory
'lsmod' shows the following:
[root@linux ~]# lsmod
Module Size Used by
st 40417 0
scsi_mod 135529 1 st
But 'modprobe st' does absolutely nothing!

Sorted this with the following command:

modprobe ide-scsi

But, I have to do this every time I boot.

Does anyone know how to do this automatically?

Many Thanks,

markusmac
