FC3 DVD Problems

I downloaded the FC3 DVD off the website.

I got it to boot up fine, but after selecting your language and then selecting your Keyboard layout, it asks how you want to install.

CD-ROM
HARD DISK
FTP
HTTP
etc

so i select CD-ROM because that is the closest choice, but it came up with an error saying that it was not in the drive.

so how am i gonna get the DVD to work??

I got the same problem.

I think it is driver issue. It looks like a bug in FC 3.

My system is DELL GX260.

I burned DVD using Nero under Windows XP pro.

I verified its MD5SUM values.

There is no problem in reading DVD media from window XP.

DVD media looks fine.

Anybody has any clue?

the problem is that it needs a driver.

what i dont understand is that it will let you boot off the DVD but it wont let you use it to install.
So if it can boot of the DVD how come it dont add the driver there so that you can use the DVD.

My system is running now and i can add/remove packages using the DVD now, but I dont really need it now because i have the 4 disc's

I solved this problem..

DVD media is bad..

After I burned DVD again at lower speed (4x) using Nero 6.6 running under Windows XP SP2.

Everything works fine.

It is very bothering!!.

As you said, we can boot from DVD and we can browse DVD contents from Windows XP.

Strange enough!! corrupted DVD booting skips DVD media check and prompts directly language selection in text mode.

So, I never thought DVD media was bad.

I guess it is somehow my DVD burnder problem or Nero problem.

I believe your case will be the same as mine.

Please burn DVD iso images at low speed and make sure DVD media is not corrupted.

It will work.
