FC 9 XFCE :: how to start it ?

Hi,

I did installation only with gnome. So I have gdm.
I used yum groupinstall XFCE to install xfce desktop.

Now when ever I start computer I don't see xfce option in gdm.
All there is, is gnome.

Any ideas?

Thanks

gdm should be able to recognize xfce....

Try booting into RL-3 and then running XFCE from the command-line: "startxfce4"

pix that worked.
amini I didn't see xdm or gdm in system-config-services window.

But strange thing is when I switch to runlevel 3 xfce starts.
SO I am just going to switch default run level to 3.

I haven't restarted my computer yet. I will let you know If that works.

F9 GDM doesn't give you a menu at the login screen until *after* you type in your username. At that point, you should see a menu pull-down somewhere on the login page where you can select XFCE as your desired desktop to log into. Assuming of course that it's already installed.
