Similar questions had been asked in previous threads, but none I could see was really answered.

I have FC Test2 currently running. To be honest, I installed and configured the box just yesterday. This morning up2date informed me of 441 updated packages, and in the mean time I have seen that Test3 is released.

I am wondering if I should perform a "yum update" or download FC3 and try an upgrade. I do not even know if these two things are equivalent, i.e. result in the exact same system.

because these are beta releases, i would say definatly upgrade.

i didn't ever use test 1 with fc1, but i did use test 2 and 3. they were both good but test 2 was kinda beta and test 3 was kinda release candidate, and quite a bit was fixed. i tried fc2 test 1 and it was pretty much not usuable, but ive noticed just by looking in here that quite a few people seemed to be using test2 as a main system, so i expect it was roughly on par with test2 from fc1, and usable.

the point is, go with test3, it SHOULD upgrade smoothly, and it should be a lot more useful/stable.
