i burn the DVD of F15 64bit, during installation, after packages customization, it tells me there is a perl package cannot be read,
could it be my *.iso image got defect?
The installation fails.
No, this problem occurs with me as well, when I try to upgrade using the DVD. And it's the perl package that is the one that keeps coming up missing, that and a libjpeg package, too. I've seen other complaints about these packages in researching the problem, which consistently accompanies rumors that F14 cannot be upgraded to F15.
gnome in FC15 is the absolute worst designed desktop manager of all time. ALL TIME.
Obviously, you haven't tried Unity FWIW, I recommend XFCE for folks who want the most GNOME2-like experience, and LXDE (which I'm using) for those who want something lighter.

I tried Unity and Gnome 3,
Unity is good.
Gnome 3, horrible. I uninstalled F15 just after 1 day.
Don't know, don't know folks. True and I didn't like GNOME 3 in Fedora 15 from the very beginning... but then I thought, hm, it's a completely new thing. So everything that's new is always different. So I like it a bit better now, hoping at the same time that they'll bring in improvements soon enough. Just like it was with KDE 4.*.
Yet what I really hate is that things aren't "configurable" any more with this new GNOME 3. They've always been in all Linux desktops, it's been part and parcel of the Linux philosophy, and now what?...
But on the other hand, I'm not that much bothered by all this. The stuff works and that's fine. Only, it doesn't boot as quick in Fedora 15 as it does in Ubuntu 11.04. Well, I'll just keep it in mind if I need a quick booting system I'll not install Fedora.
If you got your answers, please mark this "[SOLVED]".
If, on the other hand, TigerLinux's hijack derailed the process for you, please feel free to report his 1st post here, asking that it & all replies to be split into as separate thread.
