disable modprobe & messages in log

Hi all,

in /var/log/messages

1- May 5 15:08:32 farabi modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-0
May 5 15:08:32 farabi modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-0-3

I have no sound can how can i disable these messages ?

2- May 5 11:57:40 farabi su(pam_unix)[3345]: session opened for user news by (uid=0)
May 5 11:57:40 farabi su(pam_unix)[3345]: session closed for user news

What is this message means I ve no news server. Thanks for replies.

Add

alias sound-slot-0 off
alias sound-service-0-3 off

to /etc/modules.conf

For the su news related log message, I don't like to guess what packages you've got installed and what you or your system did at 11:57:40 and how often you see that message. Check whether a cron job is installed.
