Could someone help me to install a video board driver in Fedora Core 2?
Hi, I am using Fedora Core 2. I downloaded a driver for my video board (ATI Radeon 9600 PRO), but I've not been able to install it. The extension of the file is .rpm. When I try rpm -Uh --force Catalyt.rpm appears a warning message like that:
Tailored kernel module for fglrx not present in your system.
You must go to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir
and execute './make.sh' to build a fully customed kernel module.
Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh'
in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository.
I went to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir, but when I try to execute ./make.sh appears a message saying Permission Denied
When I went to ATI website to try do find some information about it, it was writen that I must have the following softwares installed:
Kernel source code
Kernel header (include files)
GCC compiler
Make Utility
So I went to Add/Remove Applications and tried to find the softwares that were missing. I went into the Development group and add Development tools and Kernel Development. But I am still having the same problem.
Is it someone knows what more I have to add or something else i have to do to install that driver?
