configuring screen frequency

I am having a slight problem with my screen frequency. My screen before Login session is a bit distorted, though when I login it is all right since I have changed the frequency from 85 which was the default to 70. This wasn't a big problem till I decided to use fluxbox. So now when I use fluxbox I get the same distorted screen as the login session. I checked the XFree86Config file and it seems that is all right, since my monitor is recognized and the horizontal and vertical frequency follow the specification of the monitor. I think I need to change the default frequency from 85 to 70, but how do I do that? The XFree86... file gives me the option of horizontal and vertical frequency and they are all right. Is there another place where I can change it?

Thanks, and sorry for my English mistakes since my English is not my native language

i dont know, all i can say is that everything is allright when i change the frequency from 85 to 70 using control centre in KDE, but that makes the change only for the screen after the login. Is there a way that i can make the same change for the screen before login?
