clean Fedora 35 install.

I am trying to install from scratch a new copy of fedora 25 workstation but am having problems setting up the partitioning.

Currently on another machine I have 1 SSD (128GB) and a 1 TB HHD This uses ext4 nad is partitioned as /boot /boot/efi and / are all on the SSD. /home and /var are on the HDD.

I would like to repeat this layout if possible but using btrfs. Each time I try it when using the installer on the live DVD I seem to get a very strange layout. where /boot is in he SSd and everything else seems to be of the HDD. /boot/efi and with /, /home and /var under one btrfs sub volume. This seems a big waste of the SSD.
what I would like is for the boot partitions and he / partition to be on the SSD with the / partition being btrfs and the /home and /var on the HDD, both btrfs with a view to adding an additional HHD (same size) to make a Raid 1 array so in that way the data has got some protection (backup made anyway)

Part of my reason for a raid array is that I have had 2 HDDs, on different machines, burn the power connector and the SATA data connector with a loss of data (I had backups anyway

Can anyone assist as to how I can achieve what I am after or have of c\=got it all wrong in the way btrfs can be configured.
Thanks

If the ssd disk type is msdos and not gpt maybe the problem.

Thanks. Found that by using the advanged GUI partition option in the installed and selection "partition", then btrfs, calling it "root", allocating the size then putting the mount point at "/" I was able to allocate this to the SSD. Did same again on the HHD withn a partition for /home btrfs and it worked.

Thanks
