checking for GLIB - version >= 2.4.0... no

I'm trying to install a software, and -when configure- it doesn't find GLIB:
---------------
checking for GLIB - version >= 2.4.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
-----------------

But if I try to install it via YUM:
----------
[]# yum install glib
glib is installed and is the latest version.
No actions to take
----------

Any suggestion?

If you know the version it is looking then sym link that name to the version you have. This should fool it into submission.
