by tring to fix the MBR i damage the MBR that was help...

hello i tried to fix the MBR,because the linux fedora core 3 kick quit from the MBR when i installed the xp sp 1 that now is sp2 by update back to question.
i inserted the first cd of the linux and choose "f5" (linux rescue) and its give me the next message: "chroot /mnt/sysimage" to back to the menu or some fine,i don't remmeber 100% so i am writting from my memory.
so i writied that "chroot /mnt/sysimage" and nothing change.
so i reset the computer but then it's fuck the MBR and the xp isn't work ok too now,but luck that he smart enough and i get bord that i can run him (xp),so now i must fix him before i fix the linux.

the partitions are and not change in any way and stay as they was before the format:
first and master hard drive 60 gb,splited to 3 partitions.
60%-xp fat 32 hda1
40%-splited to 8e and ex3.
second and slave hard drive 40 gb,he isn't splited at all and is file system is fat 32.

how am i fixxing the MBR withquit damage the xp again and get first the linux and then the xp,like it's was before the format of the xp?

To just put a fresh XP MBR back on, you can boot from your xp cd, drop to recovery console and simply type fixmbr

Once that is working, boot back into your rescue disc, do just as you did with chroot and then

grub-install /dev/hda

You can always check out the grub manual as well...

http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/

note, i'm asumming you are booting from /dev/hda, but I could be wrong.
