Fedora 8 no longer has the bcm43xx driver. It uses the more modern b43 and b43legacy drivers.
/sbin/lspci -v
will identify for us exactly which broadcom card you are using.
/sbin/lsmod
will identify if either of the b43 modules is being loaded for your card.
This page will identify which firmware you should be downloading to cut with the b43-fwcutter to make fedora identify the card:

You "may" need to do the second part of the 'method 2' howto here to get the card recognised but mine was/is working without it.
