Boot Hangs Still Fedora 2 kernel-2.6.7-1.494.2.2

I had downloaded the 2.6.6 kernel and it would hang at detecting new hardware. I got the updated 2.6.7 kernel today and it still hangs at the same point, is this actually the right update, or did someone goof and release a mis-numbered fix?

Hi I've had the same problem with both these kernels, easiest way to fix is just to disable the hardware checker (service name is kudzu). Every time they update the kernel I seam to get more small issues, does make you wonder how much testing goes on before updates are released - The 2.6.7 kernel tells me my fat32 partition I use as read/write for both windoze and linux isnt a valid block device and still trying to fix this!

Oh thats interesting, just noticed in the 2.6.7 kernel SATA devices are renamed /dev/sdx problem solved

Its on the gnome menu: settings/server settings/services (or similar - I'm not in Linux at the moment) or you can type ntsysv from the terminal.
