Backing up for system upgrade
Greetings!
I have been using Fedora for about two months and installed many programs and applications outside the distro CD. I'm getting a new system, and I'm trying to find out detailed specifications and/or software that allows me to back up for the new system. I would like the backup to contain:
- All the new packages downloaded and installed outside the distro cd
- User settings/Configuration
- User's files
- Gnome configuration (All users)
Windows XP has some feature which is pretty much alike what i'm trying to to the system, the difference is that I need the newer packages for FEDORA on the backup too.
Also, I would like any advice on backups that experienced users might find of use to a complete newbie on backing up linux systems.
