ati radeon 9800 pro on fedora core 3

right im new 2 this distro and linux mainly cause i tried mandrake 10.1 for 3 weeks and i never got it working so i tried fedora core 3 which is why i need someones help please. The problem is i booted fedora core for the first time today and it comes out with a nice grey screen and that is as far as i get so any help would be good.

You should have gone w/ an Nvidia card if your going to use linux. Nvidia is better supported in linux, while ati is still new to linux. If you can get a radeon 9000 or lower you shouldnt have any problems. i think u need to use the generic radeon driver for your card, im not sure. you can select it when it asks you to configure your monitor on the first boot.
