A/V Speed wrong after kernel 2.6.33

I've run into a rather strange problem with my A/V apps. Ever since the upgrade that installed kernel 2.6.33.8, my movies and sound files are played at approximately double speed. I've "fixed" it in F13 by simply not using any new kernels when they're installed, but that's not an option on F14; I did a completely clean install of F14, and when I run a speaker test from the System->Preferences->Sound, the sound clips sound like " FrtEt" and "FrtRt" instead of "Front Left" and "Front Right."
