I tried to install ElementaryOS "Freya" on my laptop (spec's below in signature). But after installation my system freezes after a few minutes. I never timed it but i guess it freezes between 5 - 10 minutes after booting up and logging in.
I know about this topic but as far as i can remember i avoided using btrfs in the partitioning tool in the setup and choose ext4.

Does anyone has a clue here whats going on??
Do a dmesg in the terminal and see if you can see what is hanging.
Install proprietary Nvidia driver and your freezes will stop.
It is your job to find out how to install Nvidia drivers in Elementary.
I don't run it.
To bear out my statement. I bet if you check. You are running the open source nouveau driver which has problems on certain gear with nvidia chip sets.
Nope. First thing i do is installing the proprietary driver for Linux. In fact, my system is hybrid. So beside Intel, i have Nvidia as well but never use the Nvidia for regular things. Always running with Intel GPU.

K.
Never would have guessed guessed this from thread info.
Never mind then.
I guess dmesg log in /var/log/dmesg.gz 1,2,3,4 are no help then?
