Question xfe (lightweight file manager for X11) & debian

I'm curious to known why the version of this package is available only at the release 1.04-2.1 (even on squeeze).
This version was realized on 2007-09-12.

Now is available the 1.32.1 (2009-11-12).

Yes the "actual" package is 2 year old.

Is there some specific reason?
Are there hopes for future updates?
Or was simply forgotten?

Note:
xfe is available directly from the producer the package debian (but i don't tried it) but only for the 32 bit version.

You should always check the bugs reported against a package when you have this type of question:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgre...xfe&archive=no

Scroll to the bottom and read the last bug report and replies.

$ apt-cache policy xfe
xfe:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 1.32.1-2
Version table:
1.32.1-2 0
990 http://ftp.debian.org sid/main Packages

Like evo2 already stated check the BTS.

If you want shiny new apps you run sid and take your chances with it breaking.
