Where is connection tool?

This is my first experience with a Gnome desktop and I can't seem to get much done. I feel really silly asking this but searches have not helped.

OK. How do I dial out? I am looking for a connection tool for a modem like kppp or kinternet.Nothing under Accessories or Internet so I suppose System tools is where I should be but I can't find anything.

If I go to Screen Resolution I am not given an option above 800 x600.

Should I be using terminals for these things?

I have changed to a kde desktop but am no further ahead. If I click on the kppp connection tool nothing happens. Can't change the screen resolution above 800 x 600 either.
Am I not installed properly or what?
I can't use it the way it is...can't even reach the bottoms of the boxes to OK them.

Having same problem with no connection tool

Having the same problem with no connection tool when in Gnome desktop. Using Suse 10.0 and configured the modem in Yast but can not find a way to dial out. Is there any body out there that has a solution?

To start with you might get a better response had you posted your question in the Suse forum..

Might want to start by installing gnome-ppp
