USB /call center question

Hi all,
I'm working for a call center and they use ZOIPER and PULSE for their soft phones. We are getting alot of issues with the USB Dongles and headsets losing the USB settings. the current fix is to restart ZOIPER and reconfigure.
I would like to know if there is a a way to force the USB devices to refresh that would not kill a call if they are on one?
Thanks

I would expect reinitialising the USB controller might cause problems with the software, but you can test that in advance by removing the dongle and reinserting it. If the software can handle the headset effectively being removed and reinstated without losing a call, then there are ways to reset the usb controller on the fly...

BTW, if you suspect auto-suspending (USB power management) is at work here, that can be inhibited using "usbcore.autosuspend=-1"" as a grub kernel boot parameter.

Good luck with this.
