Upgrade from Lenny to Sid changed bash history keys

I just did a dist-upgrade from Etch to Lenny, then Lenny to Sid. The only issue I have run into is that when I open either the gnome terminal or the gnome root terminal, the up and down arrows do not scroll through the bash history. Instead I have to use Ctrl-p and Ctrl-n.

Anyone having a similar issue?

Anyone know how to switch this back to the up and down arrows?

I figured it out with some more Googling. . .

I had to edit this section of /etc/inputrc and uncomment the last line.

Quote:
# try to enable the application keypad when it is called. Some systems
# need this to enable the arrow keys.
set enable-keypad on
