"transparent" screen in grub

Hi, after put a splash screen image in grub, i have the next problem:

there's always a black square that host the boot option: debian, other os, etc) and my splash image can't viewed completely because this square is "on" it

is there a way to configure grub so it can be "transparent"?

i'm using etch

Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst

look for the "color" line and start playing around. This is mine:

Code:
# Pretty colours
color black/transparent white/transparent
I set that a while ago and I can't remember what the colours here correspond to, although I know that this removes the black square you speak of.
