Strange Synaptic problem in Debian

Although I use Mandrake and Suse mostly, I've decided to give Debian a go so I can see if I truly likle customizing.

Anyway, I've done a net install of Sarge which went well.

The problem: I've installed a couple of packages with Synaptic with no problems. However, sometimes when I select a package, Synaptic starts shaking/vibrating on the screen. I can't close it, either, and it doesn't install the packages.

Any ideas?
