I already returned the sound card, but I tried it on both the normal debian kernel (2.4.something, i forget what, and 2.6.8 and both of them did the same thing. I tried it in red hat fedora core 3, and it did the same thing. I just don't get it

Hmm, anyone had luck getting the mic to work too? setting up the SB live 24 so that the sound works is easy with the alsa-project web-page and latest drivers, but the mic.. And is it possible to get that card working full-duplex? (Ie: AAO & TS2)
Regarding the CA0106 driver. I'm using it for Playback - however I came across a bug report directed toward the developer while trying to find out why I was having problems getting my audiocd to play (no sound). The bug report was closed with the comment that there is no capture support in the driver due to a lack of documentation. Great! Well with that heads up. If you ever get this working, don't forget to mute you SPDIF Out channel (the only thing you can mute) otherwise, the card will be putting out digital audio. And, if you have plain old amplified speakers, like me, you won't hear a darned thing. Use amixer or alsamixer to accomplish this task. Otherwise, the sound is great. Still takes a little work to get it to play nice with KDE.

Thanks for that link. And I assume too that we'll never get the mic working. Too bad, the card is good and cheap. Anyway, I don't need to play around with SB live24, Bought Audigy 2 ZS.
...Works like a charm.. :P
