Question about the Debian signatures breakin/theft
Stealing keys seems to be a precursor to attacking systems with ransomware, etc. So how do I make sure I have the latest/newest debian distro signatures (not to mention other signatures) that presumably regenerated what was stolen?
Since all the ransomware I encountered so far is a trojan, it is usually installed on a system by a user that installs third party software from unofficial sources. You usually can trust the the official Debian sources and don't need to worry about them. The signatures used to sign Debian packages are updated automatically when you upgrade the system.

The mac version has been named "KeRanger", which sounds a bit like the KDE naming method. I (we?) hope there's no connection.
