question about Perl modules and CPAN

Hi,
I'm going to install ASSP (antispam) on a Debian 7 machine.
According to this URL:

http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik...SP_version_2.x

there are several perl modules dependencies.
In general, it would be a problem if I install some modules through APT and some with CPAN shell?

Thank you!

Nope, but there are a few things you might want to consider:

1) When using cpan to install a module, it will not show as installed in Synaptic/aptitude search.
2) Naming is different, but that wouldn't be an issue when using the link you included.

Hi,

I recommend trying to use your package manager to provide the dependencies. Then, only if that fails, install individual dependencies from cpan.

debian has many anti-spam software packages

your ISP if a cable company likely filters (and records) all your email

many block port 25 and insist you use theirs or cancel you

in clinton era microsoft google yahoo made deals to block all email they did not control "by law" it was said
