Problems with two ethernet cards.

I installed Woody onto a box I need to use as a router/firewall.

I first installed the 2.2 kernela, and then reinstalled with the 2.4 kernel.

Now the system only recognizes one ethernet card. Is there a way to force the system to do a 'hardware' check to look for the other card? If not, how would I begin to go about making the software recognize the second card?

Thankyou.

update: I learned what the cards are...

... when I ran "cat /proc/pci | less" I found out that the two cards are a RealTek RTL-8139 and an Intel 82557. I still don't have a clue as to what I would do next.

You may need to compile EtherExpressPro/100 support(e100 alternate intel driver) in xconfig, in config it is called CONFIG_E100), into your kernel.

However, I am not so sure whether it will work as 82557 is not on the supported list of this driver but 82558 is. Hope they are compatible.
