problems upgrading from etch to lenny

after i did an upgrade of etch to lenny, when i reboot the computer to the new kernel the system halts lookpng for root file system. i tried single user mode same thing. i have to boot back to the old kernel of etch to get the system to work. i guess a dist-upgrade gone bad.

I had something like this problem.. post your /etc/fstab
