problem with apt-get


Hello !
when attempting to upgrade some packages ( example: perl) synaptic is warning me that it would remove most of KDE packages !!

Any idea about what is going on ??

What version of Perl are you to trying to update from/to, and what apt sources have you configured? Sounds like you're trying to update from a testing or unstable branch, in which case apt might be complaining you are removing the stable version of Perl that a number of KDE apps. might be using...?

Sid and Testing. There are a couple of packages right now that threaten to remove KDE and lots of other packages. That's why it is important to read what each package whats to add and remove. That along with apt-listbugs will save you many many headaches.
