problem in setting up qmail

I am trying to setting up the qmail. While I trying,I got the following error displayed

./compile: exec: cc: not found
make[1]: ***[qmail-local.o] Error 127
make[1]:Leaving directory '/tmp/qmail/qmail-1.03'

You don't have a C compiler. You need to install cc, or gcc.
