print notifcation icon


i have made several debian sarge installs on many different boxes all with same hardware...however some of them display a small printing icon when the printer is in use and others do not....i cannot figure out what i am omitting when this does not display....the printing works fine however

debian sarge (testing) 2.8 kernel with gnome 2.8....

It may have something to do with which printing subsystem you installed, ie. Cups or direct printing through lpr, as to whether kjobviewer is started automatically. Just a thought.

Perhaps it's more obscure than this however...
