New Debian 7 Wheezy post-install questions

This is a catch-all thread for things I am thinking about post-install.

I have Debian 7 Wheezy with Gnome.

1. Is it possible to have some sysmon stats in the top toolbar somewhere? i.e CPU % RAM % etc?

2. Which widget app can I use to get transparent sysmon stats on the desktop?

3. Is it possible to remove all traces of KDE as I do not intend on using it? It is a removable program in the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the Applications Menu (although I tend to use apt or synaptic)

4. When I try to amend the Menu structure using the Main Menu tool, simply nothing happens when clicking on New Menu etc?

5.I'd like bluetooth to be disabled by default on startup but easily re-enabled via the applet if required. I had done this previously when I had Kali installed by adding rfkill block bluetooth to /etc/rc.local, but this time it hasn't worked?

6. Why is it sometimes when I reboot via the username gui menu, it asks for root password, and sometimes it doesnt?

That's it for now, probably more to come!

Solved 5 and 6!

5. Everything was correct, except for the fact that rfkill was not installed!
6. Happens when I have a root app open (i.e synaptic or terminal etc)

Number 4 seems to have fixed itself, however I do have a specific question which my Googling skills are unable to locate an answer for as of yet.

Some programs I want to open can only be done so as root, and I cant figure out how to incorporate this into the command box?

I have tried:

sudo gnome-terminal /usr/bin/app
gnome-terminal -x sudo /usr/bin/app
gnome-terminal -x "sudo /usr/bin/app"
gnome-terminal -e sudo /usr/bin/app
gnome-terminal -e "sudo /usr/bin/ap"

the -e option gets me to enter the password but then passes the rest of the chars along which causes errors.

Any suggestions??

In gnome tweaks there is a setting to run system monitorwhich will show at bottom of screen when you do a mouse over.
The main menu doesn't work well & when it adds an item it puts it in Other instead of the place you want it. So if you tried to add it 3 x there are 3 entries under Other.
