Nautilus seems to crash after kernel update

I added a second hard drive a few days ago to my Etch box. Everything was working fine. I could open the second hard drive and other files using GNOME. I updated the kernel and a few other packages yesterday and now I can't open anything from the "Places" menu such as 'Home Folder' and 'Computer'. If I click on the second HD on my desktop, it disappears after the busy mouse curser spins for a few minutes. I can open files through other programs such as OpenOffice and Firefox. I'm new to Debian and can't seem to find the old kernel...If it is the kernel that is the problem. I've also had to use the terminal to shutdown or reboot. This is rather annoying and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

The issue was solved with the following.

Code:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
Makes sense: If updates broke something, updates should fix it.

Thank you!
