Exclamation Mounting problems [HD]

I have a Knoppix live-cd.
It works fine and can mount my partitions.
So I decided to install it to the HD as a Debian-based one.
All worked fine, and I succeeded to dual-boot it with Windows XP Pro.
So I started it up, came into grub and chosen the Debian system.
It started up fine, BUT....
it won't be able to mount any partitions, except a ZIP drive or the drive where the system is installed on.

When I am trying to mount it, I get the following error:
Code:
Could not mount device.

The reported error was:

Error opening partition device : Permission Denied

Failed to start up volume : Permission Denied

Couldn't mount device '/dev/hdb1' : Permission Denied

Mount failed.
But this works fine if I run Knoppix from a livecd!
Any help? Please?

EDIT: Everything else is workin propertly, I am even using the system now to view the forum. But this problem is very annoying.

I'll try, but now I won't be able to see the KDE-desktop and the login panel!
I just see the following:
Code:
Box Login:
I log in with my account, but how do I get to the normal login screen with the KDE afterwards? I tried CTRL+ALT+F7.

EDIT: OK, I was able to access it with the live CD:
Code:

#
