If you get a blurb about not being able to validate a particular package, run "apt-get update" and then "apt-get upgrade" again. If it craps out on you with an error, try "apt-get -f install".
Also, read the man-page on mount - guaranteed it's going to have been updated with the mount package update. Perhaps they changed the default behaviour of running mount without any options? (I know, I know, it sounds like a stupid though, but you never know...)
If all else fails, just create an alias in your ~/.bashrc file where you map "mount" to run mount with the necessary option to show all mounted permissions. (I apologize for not being able to provide the proper option flag, but I'm at work right now.)
Code:
$ echo "alias mount='mount -TheOptionFlagHere'"
Just as a side note: Why do you have the Videolan repo in your sources.list - Debian ships with VLC in it's default stable repository.
