Mount command update debian etch?

Recently an update via apt for the 'mount' command was available. I updated and now mount doesn't list the mounted file systems as it used to when entering just 'mount'. Is this a corrupted file, virus?. Still new to linux I'm paranoid about these sorts of things. I think I use safe repositories, but I remember when installing these particular update I was given a warning about not being able to validate, or confirm the download...I don't really remember. Here is my sources.list. Any problems here? Thanks in advance...

deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian stable main non-free contrib
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian stable main non-free contrib

deb http://debian.beryl-project.org/ etch main
deb-src http://debian.beryl-project.org/ etch main

deb http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sarge main
deb-src http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sarge main

I use rkhunter and checkrootkit as well as clamav none of which picked up on anything suspicious.

If you get a blurb about not being able to validate a particular package, run "apt-get update" and then "apt-get upgrade" again. If it craps out on you with an error, try "apt-get -f install".

Also, read the man-page on mount - guaranteed it's going to have been updated with the mount package update. Perhaps they changed the default behaviour of running mount without any options? (I know, I know, it sounds like a stupid though, but you never know...)

If all else fails, just create an alias in your ~/.bashrc file where you map "mount" to run mount with the necessary option to show all mounted permissions. (I apologize for not being able to provide the proper option flag, but I'm at work right now.)
Code:
$ echo "alias mount='mount -TheOptionFlagHere'"
Just as a side note: Why do you have the Videolan repo in your sources.list - Debian ships with VLC in it's default stable repository.

and all the other multimedia codec goodies that you might have grabbed from videolan are in the debian-multimedia repository..

Thanks for the apt help, I am not sure what happened with the 'mount' command, it seems to be working normally. ??? I just hope I didn't install a rootkit or something like that. I try to keep my software sources legit, but I have in the past been a little to trusting.

Again, rkhunter and chkrootkit don't find anything and my logs don't indicate anything to crazy, as well as my /tmp folder. Hopefully I'm just fighting another paranoid thought. Thanks again.
