Miktex for Debian Stable Squeeze?

Hi

I was wondering why miktex is missing in the Squeeze repositories.

How would you install http://miktex.org/ word processing under Debian Squeeze?

How did he do that since there is nothing in the main repositories?
http://efreedom.com/Question/H-16817...Debian-Squeeze

Thanks
Regards

Probably because Debian does not satisfy the operating system requirements according to http://docs.miktex.org/2.9/manual/installing.html

Quote:
Prerequisites

MiKTeX 2.9 requires one of the following Windows operating systems:

Windows 7

Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 (all editions except Starter Edition)

Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (all editions except Starter Edition)

Windows Server 2008 R2

Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2

Windows Server 2003 R2

Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2

Please note that MiKTeX 2.9 does not work on legacy Windows platforms (Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000).
You can try running it with Wine?

Also see here: http://wiki.debian.org/Latex

Under Wine, thanks anyhow.

Miketex is really better and more comfortable to use than Latex (LINUX). Miktex can compile tex to pdf, - all of them, since it downloads automatically what it needs.

Linux should really think about porting this Miketex for Debian.

Thanks

Not according to packages.ubuntu.com, sorry. I think you will need to bite the bullet and read the developer's install instructions...
