Log in windows problem

After I upgrade to Etch, in the login window, it appear a message which is something like this ; "there is a problem in the setting, so i use the default setting" (As it is Chinese so I need to translate) And even after I login I can not change the login windows, and the same warning will always there.
I have not idea how to solve this problem nor how to search answers in the internet as the warning it written in Chinese (not many Chinese people use Linux not even need to mention Debian)
So please help me.

The warning message is:
Configuration is not correct
the configuration file contain some invalid command line for the login dialog, so running the default command. Please fix your configuration.

Thank you.

Could you change the default langauge from Chinese to English (temporarily) and give the *exact* error message and when this error shows up precisely? Does everything work correctly when you've logged in?

Another tip: this forum offers you the option to check your message for the correct spelling of words. Doesn't do grammar though It's very useful, wether or not someone is a native English speaker or not (like me and I guess you as well ).
