I have a XORO MegaPad 1564 V2 (link: https://www.xoro.de/produkte/details...gapad-1564-v2/) and I want on this to run Linux, most of the tutorials failed.
I have found a German website (link: https://www.foxplex.com/sites/linux-...-installieren/) on that is a guide how to install Linux on RK3288 and similar chips.
The guide on the German website has the link to the image not available,
but I found an other image (Rabian a Debian based Linux) on the internet (website: https://wiki.radxa.com/Rock/prebuilt_images download: https://dl.radxa.com/rock2/images/rabian/emmc/).
I installed it without errors on the device. It booted, but it gives to much errors to control it on the serial Linux console, it doesn't connect to the internet.
(I use Linux every time, but i have also Windows 10)
You need to know that on a pc, there is an agreed formula for starting up with the BIOS, but in Arm SBCs there is no such formula. Well, Arm belatedly set up the "Arm Server Ready" standard, meaning you could just turn it on and install a system, but only expensive machines comply.
As you are on LQ, go to the slackware distribution, look in the Slackware Arm sub-forum, and state your problem briefly, posting a link to your thread. Whereas they primarily focus on the better selling RazPi, there have been builds for various machines and you will find a knowledge base there. There have been RK3288 builds. They may even be able to point you to a ready-made download for it.
Please post your thread in only one forum. Posting a single thread in the most relevant forum will make it easier for members to help you and will keep the discussion in one place. This thread is being closed because it is a duplicate.
