Knoppix Mail and Flash Player Problems

When ever I log into a Root Console on Knoppix it keeps telling me I have mail in var/mail/root and its always the same trash. Its a pain because it won't let me do anything untill I read the new mail. How do I stop it from pestering me about this? Oh and I apt-get for the latest Flash plugin because I had just installed Knoppix and it doesn't work when I try and view flash files. When I try to apt-get it again it says the latest version is installed so Im confused :\

If you still have the problem, then repost at http://www.debianhelp.org. This forum doesn't exactly get huge amounts of activity, as you can tell :-) . Otherwise, this post is just to get this thread off the 0 replies list.
