heya guys
i think the problem with java that i had isnt what i thought it was.
i broke down and decidded to apt-get the blackdows java as apposed to the sun java which i couldnt get working.
so i added a repository that had it, and i did a apt-get install j2jre1.4 and got 4 library dependancie problems:
Depends: libasound2 (> 1.02) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libc6 (> 2.3.2.ds1-4) but 2.2.5-11.5 is to be installed
Depends: libgcc1 (> 1:3.3.2-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libstdc++5 (> 1:3.3.2-1) but it is not installable
E: Sorry. broken packages
i then manually apt get as many as i could, then now all i get it the problem:
----------
Depends: libc6 (> 2.3.2.ds1-4) but 2.2.5-11.5 is to be installed
----------
does that mean im using too new a version, because apt-get says im alwready using most curreent version :/
i dont know what to do now :/

EDIT
--------------------------
well... for kicks i went and tested, and it seems my sun java now works after installing the dependancies that the blackdown one needed
the sunjava test applet p[lays fine (besides the font going off screen which ill attribute to not having the right font and it being too big
)
awsome
